Psychology, embodiment, and ancestral wisdom in conversation.

EnKapwa is an embodied healing ecosystem rooted in the wisdom of somatics, shadow work, ancestral memory, and sacred relationship.En speaks to the inward and embodied. Kapwa is a Tagalog concept meaning shared self. It points to the truth that healing does not happen in isolation but within the field of relationship. Together they form the foundation of my work. A path of healing that honors both the inner landscape and the connections that shape who we become.Alongside my clinical training as a therapist, I bring the lived wisdom of family life. I have been married for over twenty years, and our family spans multiple generations, from grandchildren to young children still growing up under our roof.We live in the Sierra Nevada foothills surrounded by the forests and shifting seasons of the El Dorado National Forest. Life here moves with a rhythm that mirrors the work of EnKapwa itself. Rooted, evolving, and open to transformation.
Healing is not only about reducing symptoms. It is about restoring connection with the body, with our relational patterns, and with the deeper wisdom that lives beneath survival strategies. The EnKapwa approach integrates clinical psychology with somatic awareness, relational healing, and ancestral understanding. This work recognizes that our struggles are not simply individual problems. They are shaped by nervous system patterns, family dynamics, culture, and the stories we inherit about who we are allowed to be.Rather than focusing only on coping strategies, EnKapwa invites a deeper process of remembering and reorientation.Somatic AwarenessThe body carries memory, protection, and wisdom. Somatic work helps you recognize the signals of your nervous system so that healing is not just intellectual but embodied.Relational TruthMany wounds are formed in relationship and must also be healed through relationship. This work explores attachment patterns, boundaries, and the ways we learn to shape ourselves in order to belong.Shadow IntegrationParts of ourselves are often pushed aside in order to survive or be accepted. Shadow work invites these hidden aspects back into awareness so they can be integrated rather than avoided.Ancestral and Cultural ContextWe do not begin our lives as blank slates. Family history, cultural memory, and collective experiences shape the patterns we carry in our bodies and relationships. Healing involves bringing awareness to these inheritances so we can honor what has been given while consciously choosing what we continue and what we transform.

Open to self-reflection and willing to take responsibility for their part in the relationship dynamic.Curious about how values, family history, and systemic influences shape their connection.Interested in practicing new skills, not just talking about problems.Committed to interrupting generational cycles and building a more conscious partnership. This work is not for couples who are:In an active cycle of abuse (emotional, physical, or sexual).Dealing with untreated or active substance dependence that makes consistent work impossible.Seeking “quick fixes” without doing the deeper self-inquiry.Unwilling to take accountability and only want the other partner to “change.”Looking for legal advice related to divorce, custody, or separation (I am not a mediator or attorney).
EnKapwa is more than a practice. It is an ecosystem. Each branch grows from the same root. The belief that healing, belonging, and transformation become most powerful when they are held in relationship.Through therapy, writing, and reflective inquiry, EnKapwa explores how we reconnect with the body, examine the stories we inherit, and cultivate deeper relational truth. This work lives at the intersection of psychology, embodiment, and ancestral remembering. Each offering expresses the same core vision. We are not meant to heal or become in isolation. These are the living branches of EnKapwa as they continue to grow.
